A side from sighting bird species, there are very many savanna grassland wildlife dwellers that you can catch a glimpse at while on Uganda safari. They include among others elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, leopards and others.
Explore the hot springs
This park features one of the world’s powerful hot springs-the dual Sempaya hot spring that comprises of male and female that is worth exploring while on your safari. The female is called Nyasimbi and male-Bitende. This hot spring is known for its powerful boiling rate which reaches up to 100 degrees Celsius.
Nature walks
For nature lovers, you are never left out because this park has you covered up. You can embark on a nature walk via Kirunda trial which stretches for about 13 kilometers. The trail leads you to the center of the forest to the Semuliki River and it is equally significant site for birding. While on this amazing experience, you can also come across the Bambuti pygmies-one of the smallest tribes in Uganda compared to even the Batwa pygmies. As well, you can interact with the Batwa pygmies here and have a chance to explore more on their daily way of doing things, cultures, traditions and many others.
The other exciting activity includes sports fishing which is conducted around the river and interested visitors need to come with fishing gear for this thrilling water sport.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala-Semuliki national park
After early breakfast at your pick-up point in Kampala, you will meet with our company driver guide and proceed to western Uganda through Mityana-Mubende and Kyenjojo districts then later to fortpotal where you will have your lunch breaks. After lunch, you will continue for a visit to “Amabere Ga nyina Mwiru” caves and craters an experience that will leave you in wonders. Thereafter continue to one of the lodges near the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive, visit to hot springs and Batwa cultural visit.
After early breakfast at the lodge, you will then proceed to the reserve for a morning game drive for sightings of certain wildlife such as morning cats and various antelopes. The area is also a breathtaking experience for the bird and nature lovers. After the thrilling game drive, you proceed for lunch at your lodge and later head to Sempaya for the male and female hot springs experience where by you will be met by the local site guides who will explain more in details. When it’s done, you will get to Ntandi village for Batwa cultural visit whereby you will also get to participate in their cultural dance as they elaborate to you their life experiences in the wild. Then later you get to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
After early morning breakfast you will return back to Kampala via Mubende-Mityana with lunch breaks in Mubende town as you proceed to Kampala with drop offs to the pick-up points that will mark the end of your tour.
