Game drives/game viewing
The fact that Akagera National Park is Rwanda’s only big five game park plus variety of savanna wildlife dwellers, game/wildlife viewing is undoubtedly the most exciting activity you shouldn’t miss to engage in. On a game drive in this park, you will have clear views over elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards if you are lucky enough, the Maasai giraffes, elands, topis a mention but a few. A side from day game drives; you can as well take part in night game drives which rewards intrepid travelers with amazing views of nocturnal species like leopards, hyenas, civets and others. This safari activity equally takes you about 2 hours.
Boat tours
If you are interested in aquatic life then a boat trip is the best alternative for you. Boat trips are conducted via Lake Ihema which features huge concentration of hippos in East Africa and crocodiles as well as several bird species. Besides, other savanna grassland wildlife species can be spotted along the lake shores especially elephants, buffaloes among others.

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park
After early breakfast at the lodge in Kigali you will meet with our driver guide for a transfer to Akagera national park with lunch stopovers at the cultural sites and proceed to the park for evening game drives to spot on certain wildlife such as bushbucks, waterbucks, lions, buffalos, elephants, giraffes among others a targed time of their return from feeding or grazing. After this adventure you will get to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat ride
You will have early breakfast at the lodge and then head to the park for an early morning game drives and have sights on certain wildlife that you would have missed in the evening drive. During this drive you might sight on wildlife such as lions, giraffe, elephants, buffalos, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs among others. After the experience, you will have lunch and later continue to the lake for launch cruise that will expose you to a number of wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants and various bird species on the Lake shores. After return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali for departure
After a leisured breakfast you will embark with your safari vehicle for Kigali with lunch stopovers and visits to the local markets around the area and later proceed to the Airport for flight connections back home.
