Mountain gorilla trekking

Chimpanzee tracking
Out of about primates that thrive within Nyungwe Forest National Park, chimpanzees are a few most fascinating creatures you need to catch a glimpse at. They range in groups of about 10 and more. For visitors on safari in Rwanda, chimpanzee tracking is one unique and thrilling primate adventure you need to add in your bucket list. To take part in this adventure in Rwanda, you need $90 for you secure your permit. Treks to view these special creatures are conducted in habituated groups. Interestingly, while you are on trek to view chimpanzees in this park, higher chances are that you will also come across other primates, birds, plant species and many more.
Golden monkey tracking
A side from gorilla trekking, this park is equally ideal for golden monkey tracking. A trip to trek golden monkeys in this park, takes you through habituated groups and you start your adventure with early morning briefing at Kinigi park headquarters. This adventure may last you about 4 hours and 1 hour of magical encounter with these magnificent creatures while in their natural habitat. To be part of this primate experience, you equally need a permit which costs $100 per person.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to the lodge
After your arrival at the Airport, you will be warmly welcomed to the land of a thousand hills by our driver guide for a transfer to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe national park
After a lovely breakfast at the lodge you will set off for an interesting journey to Nyungwe national park with enroute beautiful sceneries that will draw your presence in the park. You will later continue at a reasonable speed with opportunities to take memorable pictures of wildlife as you head to Butare national museum and Malaba coffee factory for experiential stopovers and later continue to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Volcanoes national park
Wake up have a lovely breakfast and proceed to Nyungwe forest for chimpanzee tracking with the help of the park ranger guide who can easily allocate best sites to find chimps and other related primates like monkeys of different kinds. In the search of chimps and other primates, you will also come across a number of bird species that also define it as a birding destination for bird lovers. It’s a breathtaking sighting on these chimps, you will spot on them play up and down trees, feed and interact to one another having their life interesting in the wild. After the experience you get back to your lodge have lunch, check out and set off for Volcanoes national park. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura hotel.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes
After an exquisite breakfast at the lodge you will head to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a pre-gorilla trekking session and later embark into the forest with the help of the park ranger guide in search for the endangered species in the natural habitat. During this activity, some level of physical fitness is required as there is a little bit of hiking. This adventurous experience takes between 2-6 hours as they continue with their daily life of mothers feeding and carrying their young ones, playing, feeding among other things involved in their lifestyle.
You will have one hour in the presence of the gorillas after the search. After the memorable experience you will get back to the headquarters and later transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Golden monkey tracking
Have your exquisite breakfast at the lodge and continue for another exciting moment with the Golden monkeys. While on the way to meeting Golden monkeys, you will meet with other primates, flora and fauna. Then later sight on the beautiful Golden monkeys play, jump from branch to branch of tree all this describes the amazing and memorable experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali and departure
After a leisured breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven back to Kigali Airport for flight connections back home.
